Mahindra Scorpio S3+ variant launched at Rs. 11.67 lakh
Mahindra has launched a new S3+ base variant for its Scorpio SUV in India at Rs. 11.67 lakh. It joins the existing S5, S7, S9, and S11 trims. The Scorpio S3+ comes with a 2.2-liter turbo-diesel engine, 7/9-seater layout, 17-inch steel wheels, and LED taillamps. It is offered in four color options of Diamond White, Dsat Silver, Napoli Black, and Molten Red Rage.
Mahindra Scorpio S3+: At a glance
Mahindra Scorpio S3+ borrows its design features from the S5 variant. It has a boxy stance, a muscular bonnet, revised bumpers, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, and LED taillights. However, it misses out on colored body cladding and side steps. On the sides, the SUV is flanked by roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, power-adjustable ORVMs, and 17-inch steel wheels.
Power and performance
The Mahindra Scorpio S3+ is powered by a 2.2-liter mHawk turbocharged diesel engine that generates 120hp of maximum power and 280Nm of peak torque. The motor comes mated to a 5- or 6-speed manual gearbox.
A peek inside the cabin
The Mahindra Scorpio S3+ offers a 7/9-seater cabin with vinyl upholstery, manual central locking, rear parking sensors, a manual HVAC system, and a tilt-adjust steering wheel. It packs a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment console with support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth connectivity. The SUV has safety provisions like dual airbags, ABS, a crash sensor, and rear parking sensors.
How much does it cost?
The S3+ trim of Mahindra Scorpio has been launched at Rs. 11.67 lakh, making it Rs. 55,000 cheaper than the S5 model which costs Rs. 12.22 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom).
