Mahindra's latest EVs—BE 6 and XUV 9E—now available for booking

Mahindra has officially opened bookings for its new electric vehicles (EVs), the BE 6 and XEV 9e.
The BE 6 will take on rivals like Tata Curvv EV, while the XEV 9e will take on BYD Atto3 and upcoming Tata Harrier EV.
In the recent years, the automaker has dominated the mid-size internal combustion engine (ICE) SUV segment.
The latest models mark a significant step in Mahindra's electric vehicle strategy, signaling its commitment to the growing EV market in India.
Launch details
Delivery schedule and pre-launch dispatches
Mahindra intends to start deliveries of the top-spec variants of BE 6 and XEV 9e in mid-March.
Deliveries for the base variants of both models will start in August.
Before this, the company sent 1,837 units of the models to its dealers in January.
The combined production for both models stood at 2,281 units last month, an impressive number given the overall sales volumes in the electric car space.
EV market
Mahindra's market position and model specifications
Currently, Mahindra sits at the third position in the electric segment. The company's only EV on offer in CY2024 was XUV400, which sold 7,104 units.
Both BE 6 and XEV 9e share the same INGLO platform and offer similar battery pack options and an electric motor.
The BE 6 is offered in five variants while the XEV 9e is available in four variants.
The top variants pack a 79kWh battery pack, while all others get a 59kWh battery pack.
Range and cost
ARAI-certified range and pricing details
Both BE 6 and XEV 9e offer best-in-class ARAI certified ranges. The BE 6 boasts a range of 556km (59kWh) and 682km (79kWh), while the XEV 9e promises a slightly lower range of 542km (59kWh) and 656km (79kWh).
Mahindra assures a real-world range of over 500km in city conditions with AC on for both models.
The BE 6 is priced between ₹18.9-26.9 lakh and XEV9e costs between ₹21.9-30.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
