Mahindra to soon launch Marazzo MPV with an AMT gearbox
In a bid to increase sales, Mahindra will launch an automatic transmission variant of its Marazzo MPV in India soon. The AMT gearbox will be offered in 7/8-seater configurations across all three trims of M2, M4+, and M6+. However, it is unlikely to receive any changes in terms of design, interiors, and engine of the car. Here's our roundup.
Recalling the Mahindra Marazzo
The Mahindra Marazzo has a sloping roofline, a chrome-covered grille, sleek projector headlights, and a wide air dam. On the sides, the MPV is flanked by blacked-out B-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and designer 17-inch alloy wheels. There are wrap-around taillights on the rear end. As for the dimensions, it has a wheelbase of 2,760mm and a ground clearance of 200mm.
A peek inside the cabin
The Mahindra Marazzo has a spacious 7/8-seater cabin with fabric upholstery, auto climate control, rear AC vents, a dual-tone dashboard, and a power steering wheel. It houses a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for the latest connectivity facilities. For ensuring the passengers' safety, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, crash sensors, an engine immobilizer, and a rear-view camera are available.
Power and performance
Currently, the Marazzo is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.5-liter diesel engine linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It generates 120hp/300Nm. The same motor will be paired to an AMT gearbox and is likely to generate 120hp in Power drive mode, and 98.6hp in ECO mode. The manual variant delivers a fuel-efficiency of 17.3km/liter and the upcoming automatic model will offer a similar mileage figure.
What about the pricing?
In India, the Mahindra Marazzo starts at Rs. 11.64 lakh and goes up to Rs. 13.79 lakh for the range-topping trim. The automatic variants should carry a premium of Rs. 20,000-50,000 over their respective manual counterparts.
