Tata Nexon Coupe to arrive in India in 2023
Homegrown automaker Tata Motors will launch the coupe version of its Nexon SUV in India sometime next year, an Autocar report has claimed. As for the highlights, the model will flaunt cosmetic changes compared to the standard Nexon and will have larger dimensions. Under the hood, it will be offered with a choice of electric, petrol, as well as diesel powertrains.
Why does this story matter?
The Tata Nexon is a very popular car in India. By introducing its coupe version, the brand wants to raise its sales in the market by catering to a broader segment. The four-wheeler will first be introduced as an EV in our country. It is tipped to be priced competitively and should draw the attention of a lot of buyers.
The car will sport longer rear doors and sleek headlights
Tata Nexon Coupe will have a tapering roofline, a redesigned grille, a wide air vent, and sleek swept-back headlights. It will be flanked by black B-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, longer rear doors, and designer alloy wheels. A window wiper and wrap-around taillamps will grace the rear end. Dimensions-wise, it will be around 4,300mm long and have a 50mm longer wheelbase compared to the standard Nexon.
Three powertrain choices might be offered
Tata Nexon Coupe will be fueled by an electric motor linked to a 40kWh battery pack, and a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, petrol engine that will generate around 160hp of power. A 1.5-liter diesel mill might also be available.
The four-wheeler will get a larger boot space
Tata Nexon Coupe will have a spacious cabin with better rear-seat legroom, larger boot space, auto climate control, parking sensors, and a multifunctional steering wheel. It will house a touchscreen infotainment system with support for the latest connectivity options. The safety of the passengers will be ensured by multiple airbags, ABS, a rear-view camera, EBD, and crash sensors.
