Land Rover Defender (diesel) SUV launched at Rs. 94.36 lakh
Jaguar Land Rover has launched the diesel variant of its Defender SUV in India. It is up for grabs in four trims: SE, HSE, X-Dynamic HSE, and X. The diesel-powered Defender draws power from a BS6-compliant 3.0-liter engine linked to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. However, in terms of design and features, it is exactly the same as its petrol counterpart. Here are more details.
The car has an all-LED lighting setup
Land Rover Defender is offered in 90 and 110 body styles. It has a muscular bonnet, a minimalist grille, and rectangular LED headlights with DRLs. It is flanked by blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, and 20-inch alloy wheels. Vertically-positioned LED taillamps and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel are available on the rear. The car offers a ground clearance of 291mm in off-road setting.
Defender is now available with a choice of two engines
Land Rover Defender is now offered with two BS6-compliant engine choices: a 2.0-liter Ingenium petrol motor that makes 296hp/400Nm and a 3.0-liter diesel mill that generates 296hp/650Nm. Transmission duties on the car are taken care of by an 8-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system.
The vehicle has a spacious cabin with many safety features
Land Rover Defender has a spacious cabin with auto climate control, rear AC vents, key-less entry, and a multifunctional power steering wheel with cruise control. It houses a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. For ensuring the safety of the passengers, multiple airbags, traction control, crash sensors, an engine immobilizer, and a rear-view camera are available.
