KTM 790 Duke bike to be launched on September 5
KTM 790 Duke, which was unveiled in 2017 EICMA Motorcycle show, has started arriving at dealerships in India, according to Autocar. Separately, BikeDekho has claimed that the premium sports bike will launch in the country on September 5. In India, it will arrive via Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route and is expected to be priced around Rs. 8.5 lakh. Here's more.
KTM 790 Duke: At a glance
The KTM 790 Duke features a naked sporty look with a muscular fuel tank, hexagonal headlamp, split seats, body-colored front mudguard, and alloy wheels. The motorcycle also gets sari guard, crash guard, and a blacked-out treatment on mirrors, alloy wheels, and grab rail. As for electronic features, it sports a fully-digital instrument console and an all-LED lighting setup.
Power and performance
The KTM 790 Duke is powered by a 799cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin, DOHC engine which is capable of producing 105PS of maximum power and 87Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox with slipper clutch and promises a mileage of 22.7kmpl.
KTM 790 Duke: On the road
The KTM 790 Duke comes equipped with 300mm disc brake on the front and 240mm disc brake on rear. It also gets advanced electronic aids for improved road handling such as Bosch cornering ABS, traction control, launch control, and four riding modes. For suspension duties, the motorcycle houses 43mm WP upside-down (USD) forks up front and a preloaded-adjustable WP monoshock suspension on the rear.
Finally, what about pricing?
Going by the leaks, the KTM 790 Duke is expected to arrive at a price of around Rs. 8-8.5 lakh in India. However, official details will be announced during the launch event itself. Once launched, it will lock horns with Kawasaki-z900'>Kawasaki Z900 and Suzuki GSX-S750.
