KTM announces 250 Adventure motorcycle: Specs, feature, and more
While we were waiting for the official showcasing of the KTM 250 Adventure at the ongoing EICMA show, the Austrian automaker surprised everyone by quietly announcing the baby off-roader on its official website. The new motorcycle looks similar to its elder sibling, the 390 Adventure, but compromises on certain premium components to keep the costs down. Here's all about it.
First, a look at the KTM 250 Adventure
KTM 250 Adventure sports a naked street design featuring a three-tone color scheme, angular looking front apron with adjustable windscreen, sharp fuel tank extensions, and blacked-out engine as well as alloy wheels. The motorcycle gets a full-color TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, USB charging port, and a halogen headlamp unit with LED DRLs as against the full-LED unit on KTM 390 Adventure.
Power and performance
The KTM 250 Adventure borrows its 248.8cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine from its cousin, the 250 Duke. This motor comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and is capable of producing 29.91PS of power and 24Nm of peak torque.
KTM 250 Adventure: On the road
The KTM 250 Adventure comes equipped with disc brakes on both wheels along with dual-channel ABS for better grip on the road. For handling suspension duties, the motorcycle houses 43mm inverted forks up front and a mono-shock unit on the rear. Notably, the bike also comes with a raised seat height and a high ground clearance which makes it ideal for off-road touring.
And, how much will it cost?
The KTM 250 Adventure will reportedly launch in India sometime by 2019-end or early 2020. As for the pricing, the motorcycle is likely to cost somewhere around Rs. 2.5-2.7 lakh and take on the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan and Hero XPulse 200.
