Design
A blend of global design and local preferences
The Kia Syros's design is inspired by global Kia SUVs such as the EV9 and EV3, but in a compact body just under 4m.
The front has an upright stance with low-set vertical LED headlights extending into the fenders.
The top variant flaunts a tri-petal design for its 17-inch alloy wheels.
The side profile sports body-colored B-pillars, roof rails, flush-fitting door handles, and a flat glass area that sharply kinks upward before wrapping around the rear.
Color choices
A palette of 8 color options
The rear of the Syros gets high-mounted L-shaped taillights that flank the rear windscreen.
The chunky rear bumper has a two-tone black and silver finish with vertical stop lights and turn indicators on either side.
Customers can choose from eight colors including Aurora Black Pearl, Frost Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Gray, Imperial Blue, Intense Red, Pewter Olive and Sparkling Silver.
Interiors
Interior and safety features
Inside, the Syros boasts a clean dashboard with two 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and instrument cluster. They are connected by a 5-inch screen displaying climate control information.
The vehicle also provides ventilation for all seats, ambient lighting, reclining and sliding second-row seats with center armrest, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a wireless charging pad as well as a panoramic sunroof, among other features.
Engines
A look at the powertrains
The Syros has two engine options that are linked to manual or automatic transmissions.
Petrol buyers get a 120hp/172Nm, 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit.
The diesel Syros houses a 116hp/250Nm, 1.5-liter four-cylinder mill.
A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard for both motors. Customers can opt for a 7-speed DCT with the petrol version and a 6-speed torque converter with the diesel unit.
