    What's the story

Kia Sonet will make its global debut in India on August 7 via a virtual event, according to carandbike. It will be positioned below the Seltos and go on sale a month after the launch.

To recall, the Sonet was unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo and was supposed to be launched in May. However, the plans got delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis.

    Exteriors

Here's a look at the Kia Sonet sub-compact SUV

The Kia Sonet will have an eye-catching design, featuring a blacked-out honeycomb mesh grille, a muscular bonnet with sculpted lines, and sleek headlights.

On the sides, the sub-compact SUV will be flanked by roof rails, sporty alloy wheels, as well as blacked-out B-pillars, wheel arches, and ORVMs.

On the rear end, the tail lamps will be connected by a single strip of light.

    Information

    Power and performance

The Kia Sonet will come with three BS6-compliant engine options: 1.2-liter petrol, 1.5-liter diesel, and 1.0-liter GDI turbo-petrol. Transmission duties will be handled either by a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DCT unit. An intelligent manual transmission (IMT) unit will also be on offer.

    Interiors

    A peek inside the cabin

Inside, the Kia Sonet will come with a five-seater cabin featuring a sunroof, automatic climate control, ventilated seats, key-less entry, and wireless phone charging facility.

The sub-compact SUV will also have a start-stop button and a touchscreen infotainment panel that will support Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Kia's UVO connected car technology.

It should also offer multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, and parking sensors.

    Information

    What about the pricing?

As far as the pocket-pinch is concerned, the Kia Sonet is expected to be priced between Rs. 7-10 lakh. At this price point, it will take on the likes of Hyundai Venue and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
