Kia EV9, launching on October 3, will offer these features
Kia Motors is preparing to introduce two new models in India on October 3, the Carnival and the all-electric EV9. The latter will be the company's flagship electric vehicle in the country. It will be available in a single, top-spec GT-Line AWD version with a six-seat layout. Ahead of its official debut, CarWale has revealed the feature list for this upcoming electric SUV, showcasing an array of high-tech amenities.
EV9 to sport twin 12.3-inch screens
The Kia EV9 will come equipped with twin 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment system and instrument cluster, a touch-based five-inch HVAC panel, and a digital IRVM. It will also feature a Meridian-sourced 14-speaker audio system, heads-up display, wireless Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay connectivity options. Other tech features include a wireless charger, connected tech with over 100 features, digital key, and OTA updates for added convenience.
Safety and comfort features
The EV9 will also include a Level-2 ADAS suite, 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring, four-spoke steering wheel with illuminated emblem, twin sunroof, and electrically adjustable telescopic steering wheel. The vehicle will provide an 18-way adjustable pilot seat with memory function, 12-way adjustable co-pilot seat, powered captain seats for the second row with massage and ventilation functions. Other features comprise automatic climate control, recline for the third-row seats, powered tailgate as well as 10 airbags for enhanced safety.
Up to 561km range expected per charge
The Kia EV9 will be powered by a 99.8kWh battery pack, delivering an ARAI-certified driving range of 561km on a single charge. The vehicle is capable of producing 380hp and 700Nm torque with a zero to 100km/h sprint speed in just 5.3 seconds. The EV9 supports fast-charging, topping up from 10% to 80% in just under half an hour using a compatible charger.
EV9 can be booked for ₹10 lakh
The interior of the Kia EV9 will feature black-and-beige-themed upholstery, offering a six-seater variant with captain seats in the second row. Pre-launch bookings for the EV9 are currently underway at select dealerships for a token amount of ₹10 lakh, with display in showrooms and test drives scheduled from March 2025 onwards. Given it will be a fully imported model, it is expected to cost around ₹1 crore (ex-showroom).
