Kia Carnival MPV to be launched in January: Report
After tasting success with the feature-rich Seltos, Kia Motors is all set to bring its second four-wheeler in India. According to ZigWheels, the South Korean automaker will launch the Carnival multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in the country in January 2020. The report has also claimed that select company dealerships have already started accepting bookings for the upcoming car. Here are more details.
The Kia Carnival offers electric rear sliding doors
Just like typical MPVs, the upcoming Carnival will also offer a tall, long, and wide look with large windows. The car will feature a cascading grille housed in a chrome frame, roof rails, and electronically adjustable ORVMs. It will house dual-tone alloy wheels, along with electric sliding rear doors as well as a powered tailgate. Moreover, the MPV will offer an all-LED lighting setup.
The MPV is likely to come with a hi-tech cabin
The Carnival is expected to offer a spacious cabin with three rows of seating to accommodate eight people. Front-row seats could also offer ventilation and heating functions. The car is likely to house a touchscreen infotainment panel with UVO connected car technology, three-zone climate control, and ambient lighting. It is also expected to come with eight airbags, ABS with EBD, and other safety features.
Power and performance
The Kia Carnival is likely to be powered by a BS6-compliant 2.2-liter diesel engine which is capable of producing 202PS of power and 440Nm of peak torque. This engine will reportedly come mated to a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Internationally, the car is also available with a 3.3-liter petrol unit, but it is unlikely to be offered in India-specific model.
And, how much will it cost?
There is no official word on the India pricing of the Carnival yet. However, according to the report, the car will cost somewhere around Rs. 27-36 lakh and would be positioned above Toyota Innova Crysta.
