Kawasaki W800 Street launched in India for Rs. 8 lakh
Japanese automaker Kawasaki has launched the Kawasaki W800 Street motorcycle in India. Priced at Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the 773cc motorcycle sports a street cruiser design and packs some of the modern features including LED headlamp, slipper clutch, and ABS. Notably, the pre-bookings for the bike are live and the deliveries are slated to commence from mid-August. Here's our roundup.
Kawasaki W800 Street: At a glance
The Kawasaki W800 Street sports a naked design and features chrome-finished dual exhausts, spoked wheels, and rounded headlamps and indicators. Apart from retro styling, it gets a blacked-out treatment on the fuel tank and mudguards. Talking about electronic features, the bike has a multifunctional LCD screen along with analog speedometer and tachometer, and LED headlamp.
Power and performance
The Kawasaki W800 Street is powered by a 773cc air-cooled, SOHC engine which is capable of producing 47.5hp of power at 6,500rpm and 62.9Nm of peak torque at 4,800rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and gets a slip and assist clutch which reduces engine braking effect and helps riders while deaccelerating on corners and slopes.

On the safety front, the Kawasaki W800 Street comes equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels along with the dual-channel ABS for better road handling. Furthermore, the motorcycle gets 41mm telescopic forks suspension on the front and twin shock absorbers on the rear to handle suspension duties.
