2025 Kawasaki Versys 1100 launched in India at ₹12.9 lakh
What's the story
Kawasaki has launched its latest sports tourer, the 2025 Versys 1100, in India.
The new model is priced at ₹12.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes with a slightly bigger engine than its predecessor.
Despite the upgrades, it is around ₹1 lakh cheaper than the previous model.
The design of the new Versys 1100 is mostly unchanged from its predecessor, keeping the continuity in Kawasaki's product line-up.
Market strategy
Versys 1100's global and Indian variants
Globally, Kawasaki sells the Versys 1100 in three variants: a base standard trim; mid-level S; and top-tier SE.
However, for the Indian market, only one variant called 'Standard' has been made available.
It comes in a single color scheme - 'Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray with Metallic Diablo Black.'
The strategy is in line with Kawasaki's approach to cater to specific market preferences in India.
Engine upgrade
A look at the engine and performance
The 2025 Kawasaki Versys 1100 is powered by a liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder, DOHC engine with a capacity of 1,099cc.
The reworked intake ports accommodate a modified throttle body. Cam profiles with reduced valve lift enhance torque in the low to mid-rpm range.
The engine's power output has been increased from 118hp to 133hp at 9,000rpm and torque of 112Nm at 7,600rpm.
Transmission
Enhanced transmission and rideability
The engine of the 2025 Kawasaki Versys 1100 is mated to a six-speed return shift transmission with slipper and assist clutch.
A heavier flywheel has been added to enhance rideability. A secondary balancer has been added to minimize excess vibration.
An oil cooler is also integrated into the design to keep the engine at optimal temperature while on the go.
Safety features
Improved braking and suspension systems
Kawasaki has improved the braking power of the 2025 Versys 1100, with a larger rear disk now measuring 260mm. The front gets dual disks measuring 310mm each.
The front suspension includes two inverted forks with adjustable rebound damping and spring preload adjustability.
At the rear, the bike gets horizontal back-link, gas-charged shocks with rebound damping and remote spring preload adjustability.
