Jeep Wagoneer S debuts as brand's first EV in US
Jeep has officially revealed the much-anticipated 2024 Wagoneer S, marking its debut into the full electric vehicle segment in the US. The Wagoneer S is expected to be the fastest Jeep ever, boasting an impressive 600hp of power and 837Nm of torque. This power is generated from two 335hp motors, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0-97km/h in just 3.4 seconds.
Power and charging capabilities of 2024 Wagoneer S
The 2024 Wagoneer S is powered by a 400-volt, 100.5kWh battery. Jeep anticipates that the vehicle will be able to cover over 482km on a single charge. The electric SUV comes with standard DC fast charging, which can replenish the battery from 20-80% in just under half an hour. The vehicle's top speed is electronically limited to around 200km/h.
Aerodynamic design and cargo capacity of 2024 Wagoneer S
The aerodynamic design of the 2024 Wagoneer S, with a low drag coefficient of just 0.294, contributes significantly to its impressive performance. This has been achieved through design elements such as a sloped rear roof, flush-fitted door handles, and smooth undertrays. The vehicle offers a cargo capacity of up to 1,726-liter with the rear seats folded down. It can carry a load up to 469kg and tow up to 1,542kg.
2024 Wagoneer S: Feature-loaded interior and advanced tech
The 2024 Wagoneer S is packed with a host of features including a panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, and heated as well as ventilated front and rear seats. It also offers wireless device charging, automatic parking, a 19-speaker audio system, a 10-inch HUD, a 12.3-inch instrument screen, a 12.3-inch infotainment display and a 10.25-inch passenger screen. The vehicle comes equipped with a range of driver assist features such as adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping and stop-and-go functionality.
Pricing and availability of Jeep's 2024 Wagoneer S
Currently, the Wagoneer S is available in a single trim level: Launch Edition. This version offers two options: a Radar Red interior and a Trailer Tow Group that includes trailer wiring and an updated blind-spot warning system to account for a trailer. The starting price for the Wagoneer S Launch Edition is $71,995 (around ₹60 lakh), including destination charge. Reservations are now open, with deliveries expected to commence this fall.
