Jawa Perak launched in India for Rs. 1.94 lakh
Classic Legends, a Mahindra-mahindra'>Mahindra & Mahindra venture which owns Jawa Motorcycles, has launched the Perak motorcycle in India for Rs. 1.94 lakh. The bobber-styled cruiser, which was first showcased last year, comes with a more powerful engine which has been upgraded to meet the upcoming emission norms. Notably, the bookings for the vehicle will commence from January 2020. Here's all about it.
A look at the Jawa Perak
The Jawa Perak features an aggressive bobber look with low-set and wide handlebars, matte finish, and a single type seat with integrated taillight. The rounded headlamp and indicators, handlebar-mounted mirrors, curvy fuel tank, and spoked wheels add more to its retro appeal. Besides that, it houses a digital-analog instrument cluster and has a wheelbase of 1,485mm.
Power and performance
The Jawa Perak is fueled by a more powerful BS6-compliant 334cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The unit is capable of producing 30bhp of power and 31Nm of peak torque.
Jawa Perak: On the road
In the safety department, the Jawa Perak comes equipped with disc brakes on both wheels along with dual-channel ABS to avoid skidding while braking. The suspension duties on the motorcycle are handled by telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock unit on the rear as against the dual-shock absorbers housed on Jawa and Jawa 42 models.
And, what about pricing?
As far as pocket pinch is concerned, Jawa Perak is priced at Rs. 1.94 lakh in India, which is approximately Rs. 5,000 more than its previous price tag of Rs. 1.89 lakh. The bookings for the motorcycle will commence from January next year, while the deliveries will start from April 2020.
