Jawa 90th Anniversary Edition motorcycle launched at Rs. 1.73 lakh
To mark its 90th year in business, JAWA Motorcycles has launched a special edition bike. The 90th Anniversary Edition model, limited to just 90 units, costs the same as the standard JAWA bikes and will be available for immediate deliveries. Interestingly, the bikes will be allocated to customers through a lucky draw wherein those who book a JAWA motorcycle before October 22 can participate.
First, a look at the pricing and availability
The JAWA 90th Anniversary Edition model will be available in the dealerships starting October 15, and the deliveries would start as soon as the lucky draw results are revealed. As for the pricing, the motorcycle costs Rs. 1.73 lakh, which is the same as the standard JAWA bike with dual-channel ABS.
Here's a look at the Anniversary Edition
The 90th Anniversary Edition looks similar to the standard JAWA bike and sits on the same double cradle chassis, but it gets a different red-and-ivory paint scheme which is inspired from JAWA 500 OHV (company's first motorcycle). Also, the special edition sports a 90th Anniversary decal on the fuel tank and retains the retro look of the standard JAWA bike.
Power and performance
Further, the Anniversary Edition retains the mechanical specifications of the standard Jawa bike. Hence, it is powered by a 293cc liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine which is capable of producing 36.70PS of power and 28Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and promises a mileage of 37kmpl.
Lastly, here's a look at the safety and suspension setup
In the braking department, the 90th Anniversary Edition comes equipped with disc brakes on both wheels along with dual-channel ABS for better grip on the road. As for suspension duties, the motorcycle houses telescopic hydraulic forks on the front and dual-shock absorbers on the rear.
