    What's the story

American automaker Indian Motorcycle has launched the FTR 1200 S and FTR 1200 S Race Replica in India.

Both the models are based on the flat-track championship-winning FTR 750 motorcycle and will be imported in the country via completely built-up (CBU) route.

Meanwhile, interested buyers can book the motorcycles at Indian dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs. 2 lakh.

    Here's our roundup.

    Design

Here's a look at the both motorcycles

Both the FTR 1200 S and FTR 1200 S Race Replica share same naked street look with a dual-tone paint job, stepped seats, and dual exhausts.

However, the Race Replica model comes with FTR 750-inspired livery which differentiates it from the standard model.

The motorcycles also get an all-LED lighting setup and a 4.3-inch full-color infotainment panel that supports smartphone connectivity.

    Power and performance

Both FTR 1200 S and FTR 1200 S Race Replica draw power from the same 1203cc V-Twin engine which churns out 120bhp of maximum power and 112.5Nm of peak torque.

For transmission duties, the motorcycles get a six-speed manual gearbox along with assist and slip clutch.

Moreover, both models support three riding modes: Sport, Standard, and Rain.

    Safety

Here's a look at the safety and suspension setup

For braking performance, both FTR 1200 S and FTR 1200 S Race Replica come equipped with Brembo-sourced 320mm disc brakes up front, 265mm disc brakes on the rear, and dual-channel ABS as standard.

Both motorcycles house inverted telescopic fork suspension on the front and a mono-shock unit on the rear to handle suspension duties.

    Information

    And, what about pricing?

As for the pocket-pinch, the Indian FTR 1200 S is priced at Rs. 15.99 lakh, while the Indian FTR 1200 S Race replica costs Rs. 17.99 lakh. The bookings for both motorcycles are live via company's dealerships against a token amount of Rs. 2 lakh.
