    Volkswagen reveals details of the India-specific T-Roc SUV

    What's the story

    German automaker Volkswagen is all set to launch its much-awaited compact SUV, the T-Roc, in India on March 18.

    The premium car, which was unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo, will be offered in a single fully-loaded variant with a 1.5-liter TSI engine.

    Notably, the SUV has a top-speed of 205kmph and it can do a 0-100kmph sprint in 8.4 seconds.

    A look at the Volkswagen T-Roc

    Volkswagen T-Roc gets an attractive look featuring sporty-looking front fascia, a muscular bonnet, a sleek grille, LED headlamps, and bumper-mounted trapezoidal LED DRLs.

    The car also gets roof rails, faux skid plates on both the ends, LED taillamps, and chrome highlights around the windows.

    Further, the compact SUV is offered in one mono-tone and five dual-tone color options.

    Inside the cabin

    Inside, the Volkswagen T-Roc sports a five-seater cabin featuring power-adjustable leather seats with ventilation and heating function, a sunroof, and a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel.

    The car will also offer a fully-digital instrument cluster as well as a touchscreen infotainment panel with connectivity features, six airbags, and a host of rider-friendly features for improved road handling.

    Engine

    Power and performance

    The Volkswagen T-Roc will be powered by a BS6-compliant 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine (TSI), that comes mated to an automatic gearbox. This unit is capable of producing 147bhp of maximum power and 250Nm of peak torque.

    Performance-wise, the car has a top-speed of 205kmph and it can do a 0-100kmph sprint in 8.4 seconds.

    Volkswagen will announce the official pricing and availability details of the T-Roc SUV in India on March 18. But, looking at the specifications and features, it is likely to be priced around Rs. 20 lakh.
