2023 Hyundai VERNA spotted testing in India: Check design features
Ahead of its launch, the 2023 iteration of the Hyundai VERNA was spotted doing test runs, albeit in a heavily camouflaged avatar. The South Korean automaker is gearing up to reveal the mid-size sedan in the Indian market soon. To recall, the facelifted model (codenamed: BN7) was earlier seen doing test runs in South Korea as well. It will likely feature ADAS safety suite.

The VERNA is one of the popular offerings for Hyundai in the Indian as well as South East Asian markets. It competes in the mid-size sedan segment and is known for its striking design language and feature-laden cabin. However, with rivals such as the Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda SLAVIA dominating the sedan category in recent years, the automaker has decided to update its sedan.
It will flaunt all-LED lighting setup and designer wheels
The 2023 Hyundai VERNA will follow the brand's 'Sensuous Sportiness' design language. It will flaunt a muscular bonnet, wide chrome-surrounded grille, split-style LED headlights with DRLs, wide air dams, a fastback-like sloping roofline, blacked-out B pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, flared wheel arches, and designer alloy wheels. Connected LED taillamps, a diffuser, a high-mounted stop-light, and a shark-fin antenna will be available at the rear end.
It will be offered with two engine options
The technical details of the 2023 Hyundai VERNA are yet to be revealed. The sedan should be offered with two engine options: a 1.5-liter petrol unit with a mild-hybrid setup and a 1.5-liter turbo-diesel motor. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be available.
The car will feature connected car technology and a sunroof
The interiors of the 2023 Hyundai VERNA are under wraps. We expect the sedan to get a spacious five-seater cabin with a minimalist dashboard design, ventilated front seats, a sunroof, ambient lighting, a digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, connected car technology, and a multifunctional steering wheel. Passengers' safety will be ensured by multiple airbags and ADAS functions.

The details regarding the pricing and availability of the 2023 Hyundai VERNA will be disclosed by the automaker in the coming months. However, we expect the sedan to carry a premium over the current model, which starts at Rs. 9.4 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
