South Korean automaker Hyundai has launched the Santro Asta hatchback with an automatic transmission system in India today. The new model, priced at Rs. 6.25 lakh, carries a premium of Rs. 47,000 over the manual transmission variant. A look at the Hyundai Santro
The Hyundai Santro gets a minimalistic look featuring a neat front fascia with a cascading grille surrounded by a chrome frame and a sporty-looking bonnet with sculpted lines. The car houses indicator-mounted ORVMs, body-colored B-pillars, and a rear window wiper with defogger. Moreover, the hatchback has a wheelbase of 2,400mm and it runs on 14-inch wheels.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the Hyundai Santro offers a five-seater cabin with a height-adjustable driver seat, fabric upholstery, power windows, and a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. The car gets a semi-digital instrument console and a touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. For safety, it offers driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a rear-view camera with parking sensors.
Power and performance
The Hyundai Santro is fueled by a BS6-compliant 1.1-liter petrol engine that comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox or an AMT system. It promises a mileage of 20.3kmpl and churns out 68bhp of maximum power and 99Nm of peak torque.
