Hyundai Creta 2020 v/s Creta 2019: What has changed?
At the ongoing Auto Expo, Hyundai has unveiled the all-new Creta in India. The second-generation crossover arrives as a sequel to the 2019 edition that has been one of the best-selling compact SUVs in the country. In comparison to its predecessor, the 2020 model gets an all-new design, a few nifty features, a revised cabin, and some important mechanical upgrade. Here's our head-to-head comparison.
Hyundai Creta 2020 v/s Creta 2019: At a glance
With the all-new Creta, Hyundai has taken the sporty design of the 2019 model a notch up. The front is now dominated by a revised cascading grille, a split headlamp setup with projector units and LED DRLs, revised bumpers, and newly-designed tail lamps with split setup. In comparison to the outgoing model, the 2020 Hyundai Creta is also marginally longer (30mm) and wider (10mm).
Inside the cabin
The new Creta 2020 is based on the China-specific Hyundai iX25, meaning it gets a new dual-tone black and beige interior, larger vertically-positioned touchscreen infotainment, panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, and BlueLink connectivity with e-SIM technology. In comparison, the 2019 model offers a black dashboard with silver accents, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, optional ventilated seats, and an electric sunroof.
Power and performance
The 2020 Creta gets the same powertrain we saw on its cousin, the Kia Seltos. The crossover will be offered in three BS6-compliant engine options: 1.5-liter petrol, 1.5-liter diesel, and a 1.4-liter turbo-petrol. For transmission, all models will come with a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. In comparison, the outgoing 2019 model comes in 1.4-liter diesel, 1.6-liter petrol, and 1.6-liter diesel engine options.
Pricing: The key factor
The 2019 Hyundai Creta starts at Rs. 9.60 lakh for the 1.6 Petrol E variant and goes up to Rs. 15.63 lakh for the SX 1.6 (O) Executive trim. As for the 2020 Creta, the official pricing will be announced next month at the time of its launch. However, we can expect it to carry a slight premium over its predecessor.
