What's the story

KTM-owned Husqvarna Motorcycles has unveiled its entry-level Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 motorcycles at the ongoing India Bike Week event in Goa. The former is a scrambler motorcycle while the latter features a more aggressive cafe racer-like stance. Both the models are exclusive for the Indian market and share the design with their respective 401cc siblings that are available in international markets.

Design

A look at both the motorcycles

Both the Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 sit on a steel split trellis frame and feature a naked street design with a narrow seat and blacked-out grab rail - similar to their 401 counterparts. The motorcycles also house a rounded headlamp, handle-bar mounted rounded mirrors, and blacked-out alloy wheels. Besides that, they offer a fully-digital instrument console and an all-LED setup for lighting.

Internals

Power and performance

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 share the same 248.8cc engine with their cousin, the 250 Duke. This unit is capable of producing 31PS of power and 24Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties on both the motorcycles are handled by a six-speed manual gearbox along with a slip-and-assist clutch.

Safety

What about safety and suspension setup?

On the safety front, both Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 come equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels along with dual-channel ABS for better grip on the road. Both models also house 43mm upside-down telescopic forks on the front and a mono-shock unit on the rear to handle the suspension duties.

Information

And, what about pricing?

The company has not announced the pricing of the 250cc Husqvarna siblings as of now. However, according to reports, the motorcycles will be positioned above the 250 Duke and may cost somewhere around Rs. 2.3 lakh.
