Hop Oxo 100 breaks cover in India; bookings open
Hop Electric has unveiled its Oxo 100 motorbike in India. Its pre-bookings have started here on the brand's official website. As for the highlights, the two-wheeler draws styling cues from the Yamaha FZ V2.0 and gets an LED light strip on the sides. It is fueled by an electric powertrain and promises a range of around 100-150km on a single charge.
Why does this story matter?
The Oxo 100 is Hop Electric's first motorbike in India and is currently undergoing a closed-loop beta testing program at certain dealerships. It will offer good looks and decent performance. The two-wheeler is expected to be priced competitively on our shores and will take on rivals in the electric motorbike segment such as the Revolt RV400 and Tork Kratos.
The motorbike has a triangular headlamp and black wheels
The Hop Oxo 100 e-bike has a stylish look, featuring a sloping fuel tank-like structure with DRLs and extensions, split-style seats, a pillion grab rail, and arrowhead-shaped mirrors. The scooter packs a triangular headlamp and possibly a digital instrument console, and rides on designer blacked-out wheels. Its kerb weight and ground clearance will be disclosed at a later date.
It attains a top speed of 100km/h
The Hop Oxo 100 packs a hub motor linked to a Li-ion battery pack. The setup allows the two-wheeler to hit a top speed of 100km/h and deliver a range of 100-150km on a single charge.
There are disc brakes on both the ends
To ensure the safety of the rider, the Hop Oxo 100 is equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels. It might also get ABS for improved handling. Meanwhile, the suspension duties on the electric motorcycle are taken care of by telescopic forks on the front side and dual shock absorbers on the rear section.
Hop Oxo 100: Pricing and availability
In India, the Hop Oxo 100 is expected to cost around Rs. 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom) and should be launched later this year. The electric bike can be booked on payment of a token amount of Rs. 999.
