Reports indicate that Honda may use the same engine and mechanicals as in the Hornet CB1000 for this model.

The CB1000F is likely to come with a 1,000cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine that delivers 151.7hp and 100Nm torque.
The bike may also offer a Showa inverted fork and a Showa monoshock with pro-link swingarm setup for better ride quality and control.
The front wheel could be paired with a 310mm dual disk setup while the rear wheel may feature a single disk of size 240mm.
