    What's the story

Japanese automaker Honda has unveiled the 2020 editions of its popular motorcycles, the Rebel 300 and Rebel 500, at the ongoing EICMA show in Italy.

The updated cruisers come with minor cosmetic and feature updates while retaining the mechanical specifications of their respective outgoing models.

Reportedly, the new motorcycles will go on sale starting March 2020.

    Here's our roundup.

    Design

    A look at both motorcycles

Both Honda Rebel 300 and Rebel 500 feature a naked street design with a slanting fuel tank and a new seat that provides better cushioning.

The motorcycles get a rounded LED headlamp and a blacked-out treatment on the alloy wheels, mirrors, and exhaust.

Apart from that, they offer a new instrument cluster that also displays gear position and fuel level.

    Internals

    Power and performance

Honda Rebel 300 is fueled by a 286cc single-cylinder engine which is capable of producing 30bhp of power and 27.4Nm of peak torque.

On the other hand, the Rebel 500 packs a more powerful 471cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 45.6bhp power and 43.2Nm peak torque.

The transmission duties on the motorcycles are handled by a 6-speed manual gearbox.

    Safety

What about safety and suspension setup?

In the safety department, both Rebel 300 and Rebel 500 motorcycles come equipped with disc brakes on the front and rear wheels along with dual-channel ABS to avoid skidding while braking.

To handle suspension duties, the motorcycles house 41mm telescopic forks on the front and a dual shock absorber on the rear.

    India launch

    Will they arrive in India?

As of now, Honda has not revealed the pricing of Rebel 300 and Rebel 500 motorcycles. However, the company has announced that the cruisers will go on sale in March 2020.

Further, there is no official confirmation about the arrival of these motorcycles in India but reports suggest the company might introduce either of the two models in the near future.
