Honda e:Ny1 Prototype SUV showcased: Check out its features
Japanese automaker Honda has showcased its e:Ny1 Prototype SUV for the European and North American markets. It is unclear whether it will arrive in India. The vehicle draws styling cues from the next-generation HR-V, which will make its global debut on April 4. However, details pertaining to its interiors and electric powertrain are not available at the moment.
Why does this story matter?
The e:Ny1 Prototype is the third electric vehicle in Honda's e:N series of SUVs. The first two, namely e:Ns1 and e:Np1, have been revealed in China. The e:Ny1 is expected to offer good features and performance and should attract many customers in the overseas markets. If it debuts here, the competition in the electric four-wheeler segment will be raised.
The car has LED headlights and a closed grille
The Honda e:Ny1 Prototype sports a sculpted hood, a closed front grille, a wide air vent, and swept-back LED headlights. On the sides, the SUV is flanked by black B-pillars, heavily-raked C-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, sharp body lines, and designer multi-spoke wheels. A fastback-style tailgate, a full-width LED taillamp, and "HONDA" lettering grace the rear end of the car.
It is underpinned by an e:N Architecture F platform
The Honda e:Ny1 Prototype SUV is built on an all-new e:N Architecture F platform and draws power from an electric powertrain. However, its specifications and power figures are currently unavailable.
The four-wheeler should get multiple airbags and touchscreen infotainment panel
The Honda e:Ny1 is expected to have a spacious cabin with a head-up display, auto climate control, key-less entry, parking sensors, and a multifunctional steering wheel. It should house a touchscreen infotainment panel with support for the latest connectivity facilities. The safety of the passengers might be ensured by multiple airbags, a rear-view camera, ABS, crash sensors, and EBD.
Honda e:Ny1: Availability
The Honda e:Ny1 is currently in prototype form and will head to production in the future. Its pricing and availability details will be disclosed around that time. However, we are unsure whether it will arrive on our shores.
