Honda CBR1000RR-R FIREBLADE SP recalled due to faulty cooling pipe
Japanese automaker Honda has issued a recall order for the CBR1000RR-R FIREBLADE SP bike sold between April 2020 and October 2021 in the US. An issue with the oil cooler pipe is plaguing 331 units of the vehicle and may pose a potential safety hazard. However, no information regarding recalling the model on sale in India is currently available.
Why does this story matter?
The oil cooler pipe in the affected units may overheat, melt, and rupture. This might result in oil leakage onto the rear tire or exhaust pipe. Honda will replace oil cooler pipes in affected vehicles and fit a heat guard between it and the exhaust pipe. Those owning the bike in India are also recommended to visit service centers to get their vehicles checked.
The bike has a windscreen and TFT instrument console

The bike packs a TFT instrument cluster, a full-LED setup for lighting, and rides on designer wheels. It can store 19.5 liters of fuel and tips the scales at 201kg.
It is fueled by a 215hp, 999cc engine
The Honda CBR1000RR-R FIREBLADE SP draws power from a 999cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine linked to a 6-speed gearbox. The mill generates 214.5hp of power at 14,500rpm and 113Nm of peak torque at 12,500rpm.
It gets 43mm inverted front forks
Honda CBR1000RR-R FIREBLADE SP is equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with ABS, throttle-by-wire, and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) for better handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the motorbike are taken care of by 43mm inverted forks on the front side and a Pro-Link mono-shock unit on the rear end.
