Meet CB500X, Honda's upcoming adventure bike in India
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is working to launch its adventure tourer, the CB500X, in the Indian market this year. The motorcycle would definitely be a treat for the off-roading enthusiasts in the country, thanks to its sturdy design, capable engine, and hi-tech features. It would be brought via Completely Knocked Down route and is likely to be priced around Rs. 5.50 lakh.
A look at the Honda CB500X
The Honda CB500X sits on a steel diamond frame and comes with a stylish design featuring an angular-looking side profile, a tall windscreen, and an attractive paint job as well as graphics work. The comfortable riding position, off-road friendly tires, and decent ground clearance make it suitable for off-roading. Besides that, it also gets a fully-digital instrument cluster and all-LED fitment for lighting.
Power and performance
The CB500X is powered by a 471cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin fuel-injected engine which is capable of producing 47PS of power at 8,600rpm and 43Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. To manage transmission duties, the motorcycle gets a six-speed manual gearbox with a slipper clutch.
What about safety and suspension setup?
On the safety front, the Honda CB500X comes equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear ends, along with dual-channel ABS for improved road handling. The motorcycle houses 41mm conventional telescopic forks on the front and a 5-step pre-load adjustable mono-shock unit on the rear to handle the suspension duties.
And, how much will it cost?
According to reports, the Honda CB500X is likely to be priced around Rs. 5.50 lakh. However, the official details will be revealed by the company at the launch event itself which may happen later this year.
