Honda Africa Twin 1100's software update brings Android Auto support
What's the story
Honda has released a software upgrade for its Africa Twin 1100 motorcycle that brings support for Android Auto.
The tourer already had Apple CarPlay compatibility but with the latest update, users will be able to connect a compatible Android phone to access navigation, weather, telephone contacts, music playlists and more.
This upgrade covers Africa Twin 1100 variants belonging to model year 2020 or newer.

How to update the vehicle?
Riders can update the vehicle on their own. Simply head to Honda's website and download the firmware on a USB flash drive and use it to upgrade the motorcycle. As part of the software update, a passenger volume-control facility will also be added.

The Honda Africa Twin 1100 has an off-road friendly look, featuring a sloping fuel tank with extensions, a stepped-up seat, an upswept exhaust, a raised windscreen, and golden-colored front forks.
The bike packs an all-LED lighting setup and a Bluetooth-enabled 6.5 inch TFT touchscreen system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.
It comes in Pearl Glare White Tricolor and Darkness Black Metallic colors.

Power and performance
In India, the Honda Africa Twin 1100 draws power from a BS6-compliant 1,082.96cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine mated to a manual or a DCT gearbox. The mill makes 98hp of power at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 103Nm at 6,000rpm.
Safety
Safety and suspension setup
To ensure the safety of the rider, the Honda Africa Twin 1100 is equipped with disc brakes on both the wheels along with dual-channel ABS, cruise control, and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) for improved handling on the roads.
Suspension duties on the motorbike are taken care of by inverted telescopic forks on the front and a gas-charged shock absorber on the rear end.
