BS6-compliant Honda Activa to launch in India next month
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is all set to launch the BS6-compliant Honda Activa 125 in India next month. Unveiled in June 2019, the new model is the first BS6-compliant Honda two-wheeler. Notably, the scooter has already been registered by RTO, and the document has revealed some key specifications of the upcoming vehicle. Here's our roundup.
Honda Activa 125: At a glance
The 2019 Activa 125 is likely to retain the design of its predecessor. Hence, it will feature a sharp sporty look with sleek headlights, body-colored front guard, blacked-out mirrors, and silver colored grabrail. It will sport a digital-analog instrument console, LED headlamps with DRLs, side indicators, and LED taillamps. Moreover, the wheelbase of the upcoming model is also the same as the 2018 Activa.
Power and performance
The 2019 Honda Activa 125 will be powered by a BS6-compliant 124cc air cooled, single cylinder, 4-Stroke engine which is capable of producing 8.29PS of power at 6,500rpm and 10.54Nm of peak torque. To recall, the 2018 Activa produces 8.63PS of power which is 0.34PS more than the upcoming model.
And, what about the safety and suspension setup?
For braking performance, the 2019 Honda Activa 125 will come equipped with disc/drum brake on the front, drum brake on the rear, and combined braking system (CBS) to avoid skidding while braking. The scooter will house telescopic fork on the front along with spring loaded hydraulic type suspension on the rear side.
Finally, what is the pocket pinch?
The 2019 Honda Activa 125 is likely to arrive at a price of around Rs. 65,000 in India. However, official details will be revealed during the launch event itself. Once launched, the scooter will lock horns with Hero Maestro Edge and Suzuki Access 125.
