Hero Xtreme 160R appears on the company's website, launch imminent
Hero MotoCorp is working to launch its sports tourer, the Xtreme 160R, in India sometime soon. In the latest update, the motorcycle has debuted on the company's official website, hinting at an imminent launch in the country. The sports tourer, which was unveiled last month, packs a BS6-ready engine and can do a 0-60kmph sprint in under 5 seconds. Here's our roundup.
A look at the Hero Xtreme 160R
The Hero Xtreme 160R gets a minimalistic look with a semi-faired design, featuring an angular-looking headlamp cluster, two-tone color scheme, and blacked-out alloy wheels and exhaust. The motorcycle houses a fully-digital instrument console and gets all-LED fitments for lighting. Furthermore, it has a wheelbase of 1,334mm and a fuel-tank capacity of 12 liter.
Power and performance
The Hero Xtreme 160R is fueled by a BS6-compliant 160cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine that is capable of producing 15PS of maximum power at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The sports tourer can do a 0-60kmph sprint in 4.7 seconds.
What about safety and suspension setup?
In the safety department, the Hero Xtreme 160R comes equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear ends, along with single-channel ABS for better grip on the road. The suspension duties on the sports tourer are taken care of by telescopic forks on the front and a 7-step adjustable mono-shock unit on the rear.
And, how much will it cost?
Hero MotoCorp is yet to reveal the prices of the Xtreme 160R in India. However, looking at the specifications, the motorcycle is likely to be launched at around Rs. 1 lakh in the country.
