    Hero sets up new vertical for Harley-Davidson's operations in India

    What's the story

    Hero MotoCorp has announced that it has set up a new vertical for managing the sales, service, and distribution of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and merchandise in India.

    The company is back in business with 11 existing Harley-Davidson dealerships in key locations across the country. Notably, the dispatches of the motorcycles to the dealers had started on January 18.

    Harley-Davidson products will be available across the country

    Hero MotoCorp has also announced that it will expand its new business of service, parts, and accessories related to Harley-Davidson, beyond the 11 cities where the newly appointed dealers are currently active. Thanks to its extensive dealer network, it will reach a pan-India level soon.

    'Committed to a hassle-free ownership experience'

    Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson, in a joint statement, highlighted their commitment to an easy ownership experience for customers.

    "With customer-centricity and commitment to globally benchmarked sales and aftersales service as their focus, Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson are committed together to providing a smooth and hassle-free ownership experience to the existing and future Harley-Davidson customers in India," the statement read.

    Hero's shares up by 2.7%

    Hero made the announcement after market hours (3.30 pm) yesterday i.e. February 3. In today's trade, the company's shares recorded an uptick of 2.78% to settle at Rs. 3,384.40.

    For the unversed, Hero is the world's largest manufacturer of scooters and motorbikes in terms of unit volumes sold by a company in one year. It recently rolled out its 100 millionth two-wheeler.

    These Harley-Davidson bikes should be launched in India this year

    Five Harley-Davidson motorbikes should be launched in India this year. They include the Bronx and Pan America 1250 in March, the Electra Glide in August, the Street Bob 114 in September, and the Custom 1250 in November.
