    What's the story

Harley-Davidson has finally showcased its first electric motorcycle, the LiveWire, in India.

To recall, it was debuted globally at the 2018 EICMA Motorcycle show in Milano, Italy.

The electric cruiser promises a city range of 225km on a single charge and it can be fueled up in an hour using a fast charger.

    Here's all about it.

    Design

First, a look at the all-new LiveWire

The LiveWire features a naked street look and sits on a cast aluminium rigid frame. The company has fitted the electric motor at the centre-bottom of the motorcycle to lower the centre of gravity.

It comes with a dual-tone color scheme, rounded headlamp, and 17-inch blacked out alloy wheels.

Moreover, the motorcycle houses a fully-digital instrument console and an all-LED lighting setup.

    Information

The Harley-Davidson LiveWire comes with many connected features

The LiveWire comes with a H-D Connect feature wherein you can pair the motorcycle with your smartphone using H-D app. Upon successful pairing, you will get information about bike's location, available range, battery status etc. on your phone.

    Internals

    Power and performance

The LiveWire draws power from a 15.5kWh battery which produces 103bhp of power and 116Nm of torque.

This battery can be fully charged in 12.5 hours using a Level 1 charger, while using a Level 3 charger it can be fueled up in an hour.

Moreover, the motorcycle has a claimed city range of 225km and it can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 3 seconds.

    Safety

Here's a look at the safety and suspension setup

The LiveWire comes equipped with Brembo-sourced disc brakes on both wheels along with regenerative braking system which charges battery whenever you apply brakes.

The motorcycle gets a couple of electronic aids for better road handling such as cornering ABS, traction control, and seven riding modes.

Further, the suspension duties are handled by Showa's telescopic forks up front and a monoshock unit on the rear.

    Pricing

    And, what about pricing?

Though the company has showcased the LiveWire motorcycle in India, there is no word about its official launch at the moment.

However, according to NDTVAuto, Indian motorheads will have to wait for a 'few years from now' to ride this electric cruiser.

As for the pocket pinch, it is priced at $29,799 (approximately Rs. 21 lakh) in the US market.
