Ford has finally taken the wraps off the highly-awaited Mustang Mach-E. The flagship SUV is the company's first-ever all-electric Mustang model and it is due to arrive in the US in 2020. The company has announced a slew of Mach-E models that can go up to 483km on a single charge and beat most sports cars in reaching the 100km/hr mark. Here's our roundup.
Mustang Mach-E: At a glance
Despite the all-new powertrain and the muscular SUV stance, the Mach-E remains traditionally Mustang. The EV is heavily inspired by the regular Mustang sports coupe featuring a long hood, rear haunch design, sleek LED headlights, and the signature tri-bar taillamps. Moreover, with the SUV-size proportions, you get 821 liters of boot space, a 100-liter waterproof frunk (front truck), and a panoramic roof (limited-edition model).
Inside the cabin
Inside, the five-seater cabin is all about luxury, space, and hi-tech features. The premium upholstery is complemented by heated front row seats and steering wheel as well as Bang & Olufsen speakers that are integrated above the air vents like a sound bar. There is a wireless charging pad, a 10.2-inch digital cluster, and a 15.5-inch touchscreen SYNC communications and entertainment system.
Power and performance
The Mach-E range has five models: Select, Premium, California Route 1, First Edition, and GT. The entry-level version features a single RWD (rear-wheel-drive) motor with either a 75kWh battery and 258hp motor combination or a 99kWh battery and 289hp motor. Both setups produce 416Nm of torque and offer an estimated range of around 450km and 595km, respectively.
Ford is offering a twin-motor AWD powertrain as well
Ford will also offer a faster, twin-motor, AWD (all-wheel-drive) version that will pack either a 75kWh battery and 258hp motor or a 99kWh and 337hp combination. These setups will produce 582Nm of maximum torque along with an estimated range of 419km and 540km, respectively.
On the road
The Mustang Mach-E will come equipped with Brembo's performance-oriented Flexira aluminum calipers, which are designed like a floating caliper but maintain the functionality of a fixed caliper. The all-electric SUV will also offer three driving modes - Whisper, Engage and Unbridled. As for other highlights, the car will get sportier steering controls, ambient lighting, artificial sounds, and dynamic cluster animations to match driving behavior.

The Mustang Mach-E will become available in the US in 2020. However, some models like the Select and will California Route 1 will arrive in early 2021. As for pricing, it will start at around $43,895 (Rs. 31 lakh) and go upto $60,500.
