Toyota HiAce MPV launched in India at Rs. 55 lakh
Japanese automaker Toyota has launched its fifth-generation HiAce MPV in India. It is up for grabs in two color options: White and Silver. As for the highlights, the vehicle has a boxy design and comes with a spacious 14-seater cabin. It draws power from a BS6-compliant 2.8-liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Here's our roundup.
Toyota HiAce: At a glance
The fifth-generation Toyota HiAce has a minimalist design, featuring a two-slat grille, wide air dams, large headlights, and body-colored bumpers. On the sides, the vehicle is flanked by blacked-out windows, square-shaped ORVMs, slider doors, and alloy wheels. The rear section has a rectangular glass, a window wiper, a chrome-finished tailgate handle, and vertically-stack taillights.
Power and performance
The fifth-generation Toyota HiAce draws power from a BS6-compliant 2.8-liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox for handling transmission duties. The mill generates 149hp of maximum power and 300Nm of peak torque.
A peek inside the cabin
The fifth-generation Toyota HiAce has a spacious 14-seater cabin with semi-reclining seats, a 2-DIN audio system, AC vents for each row, a rear defogger, and a multifunctional power steering wheel. The last row of seats can be folded to provide greater luggage space. To ensure the safety of the passengers, dual front airbags and ABS with EBD are available.

In India, the fifth-generation Toyota HiAce carries a price-tag of Rs. 55 lakh (ex-showroom). The vehicle is being imported to India as a completely-built unit (CBU) and the first batch of 50 units has already arrived here.
