Ferrari unveils SF-25, its 2025 F1 car: Check full specs
What's the story
Ferrari has unveiled its 2025 Formula 1 car, the SF-25. The reveal was made at the F1 75 Live season launch event in London's O2.
The team's new drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, and Team Principal Fred Vasseur, were present at the event.
This launch marks a new chapter for Hamilton after his 12-year-long tenure with Mercedes.
The SF-25 car has a striking livery update with white across the engine cover, representing dynamism and a vision for the future.
Design evolution
SF-25: A significant departure from its predecessor
The SF-25 is a stark contrast from its predecessor, with Vasseur revealing that "minimal components" have been retained from last year's car.
This design shift is part of Ferrari's partnership with HP and marks a departure from the traditional all-red look.
The base red has been darkened to allow the white elements to blend seamlessly with HP's branding.
Hamilton, a seven-time World Champion, said he felt "so full of life" ahead of his debut season with Ferrari.
Specs
SF-25 packs a turbocharged 1.6-liter V6 hybrid powertrain
Ferrari's 2025 Formula 1 contender, the SF-25, retains the current engine specifications: a turbocharged 1.6-liter V6 hybrid.
This engine boasts a 15,000 rpm redline, a 100 kg/hour fuel flow rate above 10,500 rpm, and high-pressure direct fuel injection.
The SF-25's chassis is a monocoque structure, housing the powertrain and energy recovery system. It gets pull-rod suspension on the front and rear, along with Brembo ventilated carbon disc brakes.
This is the 71st single-seater built by Ferrari for F1 championship.
Championship aspirations
Ferrari aims to end championship drought with SF-25
Ferrari is keen to put an end to its championship drought with the new SF-25. The team had narrowly missed out on the Constructors' Championship to McLaren last season.
After unveiling the car and its livery, the SF-25 will hit the track for the first time during a shakedown at Ferrari's Fiorano circuit.
The pre-season testing starts at the Bahrain International Circuit from February 26-28.
The campaign officially begins with the Australian Grand Prix on March 14-16.
