KTM E-Duke e-bike in the works; debut by 2024
Austrian automaker KTM is working on a new electric motorcycle known as E-Duke. It should break cover by 2024 alongside the Husqvarna E-Pilen. As for the highlights, the two-wheeler will have a futuristic design and should offer lots of tech-based features. It will draw power from an electric powertrain that will put out a maximum power of around 13.4hp.
Why does this story matter?
The KTM E-Duke will be an entry-level electric bike and shall cater to new riders as well as A1-license holders. It is expected to rack up decent sales in the overseas markets. If the vehicle is introduced on our shores, the competition in the low-cost electric two-wheeler segment will be raised to a great extent. A lot of buyers should be interested in it.
The motorbike will have a rider-only seat and full-LED illumination
The KTM E-Duke will have a muscular fuel tank-like structure with extensions, a rider-only saddle, an underbelly pan, and a wide handlebar. The motorcycle should pack a digital instrument console, an all-LED setup for lighting, and ride on designer wheels. Details regarding its kerb weight, seat height, and ground clearance will be disclosed at the time of its unveiling.
It will run on a 13hp electric powertrain
The KTM E-Duke will pack an electric motor linked to a 5.5kWh fixed battery pack and deliver a combined output of 13.4hp of maximum power. The range figures are yet to be revealed.
There should be disc brakes on both ends
To ensure the safety of the rider, the KTM E-Duke should be equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with ABS for improved handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the electric motorcycle should be taken care of by inverted forks on the front side and a shock absorber on the rear end.
