Ducati XDiavel Nera, limited to just 500 units worldwide, announced
Ducati has pulled the wraps off a new limited edition model of the XDiavel, called the XDiavel Nera. The special bike is limited to just 500 units worldwide and has been produced in collaboration with Poltrona Frau - an Italian furniture company known for making premium seats for yachts, airlines, and supercars. Mechanically, the XDiavel Nera is same as the standard model.
Why does this story matter?
Ducati calls the introduction of new bikes an "episode." In the first episode of 2022, we have the third variation of the XDiavel series, the XDiavel Nera. In typical Italian fashion, only limited units of the Nera will be sold worldwide. The Bologna-based company's partnership with Poltrona Frau, an elite furniture and automotive upholstery specialist, has given the bike a regal look.
The two-wheeler sports a 3.5-inch TFT instrument console
The Ducati XDiavel Nera sports a muscular fuel tank, Poltrona Frau-made leather saddle, a small passenger backrest, a twin-tip exhaust, swept-back handlebars, a rear tire-hugger-mounted number plate holder, a black-on-black livery, a 3.5-inch TFT screen, and an all-LED lighting setup. The bike is offered in classic Poltrona Frau Siam Red, Steel Blue, Concrete Gray, India Brown, and Selva Green shades.
It draws power from a 160hp, 1,262cc engine
The Ducati XDiavel Nera is powered by a 1,262cc, 90-degree, Testastretta DVT engine that churns out a maximum power of 160hp at 9,500rpm and a peak torque of 127.04Nm at 5,000rpm. The mill is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
It has cornering ABS for rider's safety
For the safety of the rider, the Ducati XDiavel Nera is equipped with disc brakes on both front and rear wheels, along with cornering ABS, cruise control, Ducati Traction Control, and launch controls. Suspension duties on the motorbike are taken care of by inverted forks on the front side and a mono-shock unit with adjustable preload on the rear end.
Ducati XDiavel Nera: Price and availability
The Ducati XDiavel Nera is priced at $29,795 (roughly Rs. 22.3 lakh). The delivery of the bike is expected to begin next month. It can be booked online or offline and will be available via Ducati dealerships.
