Ducati Streetfighter V4 superbike breaks cover: Details here
Italian automaker Ducati has taken the wraps off its much-awaited superbike, the Streetfighter V4, at the Ducati World Premiere in Italy. The flagship motorcycle, available in V4 and V4 S trims, is based on the company's popular sports tourer, the Panigale V4. Reportedly, Ducati may also introduce a more powerful 'R' variant in the future. Here's our roundup.
First, let's take a look at the motorcycle
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 arrives as the naked variant of the Panigale V4 and features an aggressive design with a curvy fuel tank, stepped-up seat, and dual-LED headlamps with LED DRLs. The motorcycle comes with a fully-digital instrument cluster as well as blacked-out mirrors and mudguards. In addition, the more premium V4 S variant also gets light-weight Marchesini forged aluminum wheels.
Power and performance
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 is powered by a 1,103cc V4 Desmosedici Stradale engine, which is capable of producing 211PS of power and 123Nm of peak torque. Further, the V4 S model gets an additional Akrapovic exhaust system which bumps up the power to 223PS and 130Nm. With these mind-boggling power figures, the Streetfighter V4 now becomes the world's most powerful naked motorcycle ever.
Ducati Streetfighter V4: On the road
The Streetfighter V4 comes equipped with disc brakes on both wheels, along with dual-channel ABS and 6-axis IMU-assisted traction control. The motorcycle also gets driving aids like bi-directional quickshifter, engine brake control, wheelie control, and launch control. Moreover, it houses Showa's inverted forks up front and Sachs' monoshock suspension on the rear, while the V4 S model gets Ohlins-sourced electronic suspension package.
When will it come to India?
There is no official word on the availability of the Ducati Streetfighter V4 in India. However, considering that the motorcycle does not meet BS6 norms as of now, we expect the company to update the model and bring it to our shores sometime in 2021.
