    What's the story

Ducati is working to launch a more powerful and light-weight variant of its popular superbike, the Panigale V4R.

Titled as Panigale V4 Superleggera, the motorcycle is likely to make its global debut sometime in mid-2020 and would be available in India on special orders.

Meanwhile, European-type approval documents of the upcoming bike have been leaked online, revealing its power output and weight.

    Here's more.

    Design

    How will it look like?

Going by the spy shots, the Panigale V4 Superleggera will feature a fully-faired sporty design, similar to the Panigale V4R. However, it is expected to be taller, wider, and longer than its predecessor.

And thanks to the presence of carbon-fiber fairings as well as wheels, the motorcycle weighs 173kg, which is 11kg lighter than the type-approved weight of Panigale V4R.

    Power and performance

The Ducati Panigale V4 Superleggera will be powered by the same 998cc engine V4 engine that we have seen on the Panigale V4R. Further, according to the leaked documents, this unit is tuned to produce 221bhp of power at 15,250rpm, which is 3.6bhp more than the Panigale V4R.

The increase in power is due to the presence of a new all-titanium exhaust system.

    Safety

In the safety department, the motorcycle will come equipped with disc brakes on both wheels along with dual-channel ABS as standard.

Besides that, it is likely to get several other safety features like Bosch Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, and more.

To handle suspension duties, the bike will house Ohlins' upside-down forks up front and a monoshock unit on the rear.

    Information

And, when will it arrive in India?

The reports suggest that the Panigale V4 Superleggera will make its global debut sometime in mid-2020. There is no word on its availability in India yet. However, it will reportedly be introduced in limited numbers and will be available on special orders.
