Ducati could build motorcycle racing track in this Indian city
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has proposed a generous offer to Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati. The authority is providing a 200-acre land parcel for the construction of a new racing track in Greater Noida. The land is being offered for free. This initiative was taken after Ducati expressed its desire to establish a dedicated motorcycle racing circuit in India.
YEIDA believes the track will boost motorsport in India
The land offered to Ducati is strategically located in Sector 22F of Greater Noida. YEIDA has confirmed that this location is ideal for developing a new racing circuit. The decision was made following discussions between Arun Vir Singh, CEO at YEIDA, and Bipul Chandra, MD at Ducati. The land parcel was previously acquired from local farmers and is reportedly free from any legal disputes. Greater Noida is a planned city located in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.
Ducati yet to confirm acceptance of land offer
Ducati has not yet confirmed its acceptance of the land offer for the racing circuit and training center. The company stated that it will respond after senior officials have discussed the proposal. YEIDA and Ducati also discussed the upcoming MotoGP Bharat race scheduled for March next year, which will be India's second MotoGP race following its inaugural event in September last year.
Land offered under public-private-partnership model
The land is being offered to Ducati under a public-private-partnership model. This means that Ducati is expected to invest in the development of the racing circuit and training center. Under Uttar Pradesh's Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) policy, YEIDA can provide a 75% subsidy on land to foreign companies and retain 25% equity. This policy allows YEIDA to offer the land for free, encouraging foreign firms to invest in large-scale projects that stimulate growth and job creation.
