    What's the story

Italian automaker Ducati has started delivering the RVE variant of its Hypermotard 950 bike in India. To recall, it was launched here in November last year.

As for the highlights, the two-wheeler has an aggressive design and offers a TFT instrument console as well as full-LED illumination.

It draws power from a 937cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that generates 112.4hp of power.

    Context

    Why does this story matter?

The Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE broke cover in the global markets in May 2021 and had debuted in India in November.

The RVE is a good-looking vehicle with great performance and lots of features. It bears a hefty price-tag and is a good addition to the luxury bike segment here.

It takes on rivals such as the Kawasaki Z900 and BMW F 900 R.

    Design

The motorcycle has 17-inch wheels and dual exhausts

The Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE sits on a tubular steel trellis frame and has a sloping fuel tank with extensions, a stepped-up seat, a pillion grab rail, twin under-seat exhausts, and knuckle guard-integrated LED blinkers.

It packs an all-LED setup for lighting, a TFT instrument cluster, and rides on 17-inch wheels.

The bike gets a "Graffiti" livery and can store 14.5 liters of fuel.

    Information

It is fueled by a 112hp, 937cc engine

The Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE draws power from a BS6-compliant 937cc, Testastretta, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that puts out 112.4hp of power at 9,000rpm and 96Nm of torque at 7,250rpm. The mill is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

    Safety

    It gets 45mm front forks

In terms of safety equipment, the Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE is equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and riding modes.

Suspension duties on the motorcycle are taken care of by 45mm Marzocchi inverted forks on the front side and a Sachs mono-shock unit on the rear end.
