Crayon Envy e-scooter, with 70km range, launched: Details here
Crayon Motors, a Delhi-headquartered company, has launched its flagship e-scooter, the Envy, in India. The all-new electric scooter offers a range of 70km and comes loaded with several hi-tech features including USB charging, reverse assist, and more. It's the second low-speed offering (the first being Zeez) from the company and can be driven without a licence as its max-speed is limited to 25kmph.
A look at the Crayon Envy
Crayon Envy comes with a sporty design featuring an angular-looking front apron with dual-LED headlamps, indicator-mounted handle bar, and a flat-type seat with backrest as well as grab rail. The e-scooter houses blacked-out alloy wheels, a fully-digital instrument console, and several new-age features such as geo tagging, reverse assist, key-less ignition, USB charging, side-stand sensor, and central locking.
Power and performance
The Crayon Envy packs a BLDC motor which churns out 250W of power. It is offered with either a lead acid battery or a lithium-ion battery. The former can be fueled up in 5-6 hours while the latter can be fully-recharged in 2-3 hours. Notably, these batteries offer a range of 70km on a single charge and can be charged through household 5A socket.
What about safety and suspension setup?
On the safety front, the Crayon Envy comes equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with regenerative braking system wherein the battery gets charged whenever brakes are applied. The e-scooter houses telescopic forks up front and dual-shock absorbers on the rear to handle the suspension duties.
Finally, what is the pricing?
The company has not revealed the pricing of the Crayon Envy yet. However, ZigWheels has claimed that the e-scooter will cost Rs. 53,000 for the VRLA (lead-acid) model and Rs. 65,000 for the top-spec variant with a lithium-ion battery.
