BYD starts strong in India by delivering 200 Seal EVs
Chinese automaker BYD has begun deliveries of its all-electric sedan, the Seal, in India. The company recently conducted an event where it handed over 200 units of the Seal to customers from various parts of the country. The Seal is BYD's priciest electric vehicle in India, with prices ranging from ₹41 lakh to ₹53 lakh. The EV was introduced in March and is seeing impressive demand due to its extensive features and powerful dual-motor powertrain offered at a competitive price.
Seal has received over 1,000 bookings in India
BYD recently announced that the Seal has received over 1,000 bookings in the Indian market within three months of order books opening in late February. This impressive response underscores the growing interest in electric vehicles among Indian consumers.

The Seal comes equipped with standard features such as nine airbags, traction control, ADAS safety suite, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and front seats with heating and ventilated functions. It also includes a 15.6-inch touchscreen and dual-zone climate control. Higher variants offer additional technology such as a head-up display, a torque vectoring system, a driver seat memory function, and adaptive dampers. These extensive features contribute to the vehicle's popularity among Indian consumers.
