    What's the story

BYD has announced that it will begin accepting bookings for its new electric vehicle, the eMAX 7 MPV, in India, starting tomorrow.

The eMAX 7 is an updated version of the existing e6 model.

The company is offering a range of benefits and discounts worth up to ₹51,000 for the first 1,000 customers who book this vehicle.

    Special offers and conditions

In addition to the financial incentives, BYD India is also offering complimentary 7kW and 3kW chargers to the first 1,000 customers who book the eMAX 7.

However, these offers are subject to certain conditions. Customers must place their bookings before October 8 and take delivery of their vehicle on or before May 25, next year.

The booking amount for this new model has been set at ₹51,000.

A look at the design updates

The eMAX 7 showcases several design updates from its predecessor, including sleeker headlamps, a slimmer enclosed grille, redesigned tail lights, and new bumpers.

The side profile remains unchanged from the older e6 model.

Inside, a significant change is the addition of a third row of seats. The MPV is expected to offer captain seats in the second row with individual armrests and additional features like a panoramic sunroof and larger central touchscreen.

Powertrain details yet to be revealed

It is still unclear whether the eMAX 7 will retain the powertrain from the older e6 or feature a more powerful one.

The outgoing BYD e6 is equipped with a 71.8kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor that delivers 94hp and 180Nm of peak torque.

In contrast, the globally available facelifted version, known as the M6, uses a more potent unit similar to Atto3 SUV's that generates 201hp and 310Nm.
