BS6-compliant TVS Sport launched at Rs. 51,750
TVS Motor Company has launched the BS6 version of its affordable commuter motorcycle, the Sport, in India. The new model carries a premium of up to Rs. 8,017 over its BS4 counterpart and comes at a starting price of Rs. 51,750. It is offered in two variants: kick-start and electric start, and boasts of an all-new and more powerful engine. Here's our roundup.
A look at the new TVS Sport
The new TVS Sport gets a similar semi-faired design as the outgoing model but comes with a minor update in the form of tubeless tires and LED DRLs. The commuter motorcycle offers flat-type seat and runs on black-out alloy wheels. Apart from that, it gets slightly more ground clearance and is 1.5kg heavier than its BS4 sibling.
Power and performance
The updated TVS Sport is powered by an all-new and more powerful BS6-compliant 109.7cc fuel-injected engine that comes mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. The motor is capable of producing 8.29PS of power and 8.7Nm of peak torque.
What about safety and suspension setup?
On the safety front, the new TVS Sport comes equipped with drum brakes on both the front and rear ends, along with a combined braking system to avoid skidding. Further, the suspension duties on the commuter bike are taken care of by telescopic forks up front and a 5-step adjustable dual-shock absorbers on the rear.

The BS6-compliant TVS Sport is offered in two variants: kick-start and electric start. The former is priced at Rs. 51,750, while the latter costs Rs. 58,925. At this price point, it goes up against Honda CB Shine and Bajaj Pulsar 125 Neon.
