BS6-ready MG Hector (diesel version) launched in India: Details here
MG Motor India has finally announced the prices of the BS6-ready diesel variant of its popular SUV, the Hector. The new model comes at a starting price of Rs. 13.88 lakh, making it up to Rs. 45,000 costlier than the outgoing BS4 version. To recall, the British automaker had already introduced the BS6-compliant petrol version of the SUV in February. Here's our roundup.
A look at the variant-wise pricing
As far as pricing is concerned, the BS6-compliant diesel version of the MG Hector costs Rs. 13.88 lakh for the entry-level Style trim. The mid-level Super and Smart variants are available at Rs. 14.88 lakh and Rs. 16.33 lakh, respectively. The range-topping Sharp model is priced at Rs. 17.73 lakh (all ex-showroom prices).
Meanwhile, here's what MG Hector offers
The new MG Hector retains the styling cues of the outgoing model, featuring an appealing front profile with a massive chrome grille, sleek LED headlamps, and silver-colored skid plate. The car runs on 17-inch alloy wheels and gets indicator-mounted electronically adjustable ORVMs as well as an impressive rear profile with wrap-around LED taillights.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the MG Hector offers a luxurious and hi-tech five-seater cabin featuring leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, and ambient lighting. Further, it gets a massive 10.4-inch touchscreen panel with eSIM support and i-SMART connected car technology. The SUV retains the standard safety features of the outgoing model.
And, here's a look at the powertrain
The BS6-compliant diesel version of the MG Hector draws power from a Fiat-sourced 2.0-liter engine that comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. This unit is capable of producing 170hp of maximum power and 350Nm of peak torque.
