Mahindra launches BS6-compliant XUV300 for Rs. 8.3 lakh
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has launched its first BS6-compliant vehicle, the XUV300, in India at a starting price of Rs. 8.30 lakh. The company has updated the 1.2-liter petrol engine to meet the upcoming emission norms which will become mandatory from April 2020. The automaker is also likely to introduce a diesel engine-based model before the aforementioned deadline. Here's more.
A look at the new Mahindra XUV300
The Mahindra XUV300 offers a compact SUV-like stance featuring a chrome-finished grille, silver-colored skid plates, and blacked-out side claddings as well as wheel arches. The car houses electronically adjustable ORVMs, rear-window wiper, roof rails, and alloy wheels. Apart from that, it offers projector headlamps with LED DRLs, fog lamps, and LED taillights.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the Mahindra XUV300 sports a five-seater cabin featuring leather upholstery and a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. The SUV comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that offers connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Moreover, it offers dual-front airbags, rear parking sensors, a four-speaker sound system, and automatic climate control as standard.
Power and performance
The BS6-compliant 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine on the Mahindra XUV300 is capable of producing 110bhp of power and 190Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, depending on the variant, the car is available with both manual or automatic gearbox options.
Finally, what is the pricing?
As for the pocket pinch, the BS6 Mahindra XUV300 comes at a premium of Rs. 20,000 over the BS4 model. It starts at Rs. 8.30 lakh for the entry-level W4 variant and goes upto Rs. 11.84 lakh for the W8 (O) model. At this price point, it goes up against rivals such as Kia Seltos, Hyundai Venue, and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
