BS6-compliant Mahindra Bolero launched, starts at Rs. 8 lakh
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has launched the BS6-ready version of the Bolero in India. The new model, which starts at Rs. 7.98 lakh, comes with an updated engine, a bunch of styling tweaks, and complies with the new crash test norms. Notably, it is offered in a single powertrain option with manual transmission. Here are more details.
A look at the BS6 Mahindra Bolero
Quite like the BS4 model, the updated Bolero also offers a boxy stance with a minimalistic look and robust build quality. Meanwhile, it gets a bunch of styling tweaks including a new set of headlamps, a revamped metallic front bumper as well as apron, and grille. Further, the car is dimensionally identical to its BS4 sibling.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the new Mahindra Bolero offers a spacious cabin that can accommodate up to eight people. It comes with power windows and a two-din audio system but misses out on a touchscreen infotainment panel. As part of the standard safety kit, the SUV gets ABS with EBD, driver airbag, engine immobilizer, and speed alert system.
Power and performance
Under the hood, the new Mahindra Bolero packs a BS6-compliant 1.5-liter three-cylinder diesel engine that comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The motor is capable of producing 75hp of maximum power. However, the torque figure is yet to be revealed.

The new Mahindra Bolero is offered in three variants: B4, B6, and B6 (O)- the former is priced at Rs. 7.98 lakh, while the B6 and B6 (O) models cost Rs. 8.64 lakh and Rs. 8.99 lakh, respectively. Reportedly, the new models are expected to get a price hike of around Rs. 70,000 in the coming months.
