KTM to commence deliveries of BS6-compliant 125cc motorcycles from April
To comply with the upcoming emission norms, KTM recently updated almost its entire line-up with the BS6-ready engines. In the latest update, the Austrian automaker has revealed that it will commence the deliveries of the BS6-compliant 125 Duke and RC 125 models from April 2020. Apart from the engine upgrade, the new models retain the design and features of their respective BS4 counterparts.
A look at both the motorcycles
Both the KTM 125 Duke and RC 125 models sit on the same steel trellis frame and feature an eye-catching sporty look with an attractive paint job as well as graphics work. However, the former sports a naked-street design, while the latter comes with a fully-faired look. Further, the motorcycles run on body-colored alloy wheels and house a fully-digital instrument console.
Power and performance
Both the KTM 125 Duke and RC 125 models draw power from a BS6-compliant 124.7cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and produces the same power as the BS4 model. The unit is capable of producing 14.5PS of maximum power at 9,250rpm and 12Nm of peak torque at 8,000rpm.
What about safety and suspension setup?
In terms of safety, KTM 125 Duke and RC 125 models come equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear ends, along with single-channel ABS for improved road handling. To handle suspension duties, both the sports tourers house conventional telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock unit on the rear.
Finally, here's a look at the pricing
The bookings for the KTM 125 Duke and RC 125 are open at the company's dealerships, and the deliveries are likely to commence from April. As for the pocket-pinch, the former is priced at Rs. 1.38 lakh, while the latter costs Rs. 1.55 lakh.
